Gift Card not applied to purchase

Hi, yesterday I ordered several items and used a gift card, then used a visa for the balance. I had done it yesterday as it was the final day for 3x the points. When ordering it showed that the gift card was applied, and that the remaining balance was $18. I was wondering if I returned the products and re-purchased them using the gift card if I would loose the 3x the points?

Whenever you make a return, you will loose the points that you gained during that purchase. I hope that this clarifies.
