Gift Card Showing a Zero Balance

I received a Gift Card for Christmas and just opened up the package.  I pt in the information and i am getting a zero balance.  I called customer service and they said it was used In January.  Which I didn't do as I just opened the package that covers the scratch off account number and pin.

@howcome12, I'm sorry for the disappointment with the return policy and that the product you'd like to purchase is unavailable. Online orders paid for with PayPal and returned in store will be refunded to a Store Merchandise Credit, which can only be used in stores. This credit does not expired and can be redeemed in any freestanding Sephora store. We value your feedback and I'll share this with our team for continued improvements in our service.

@MissMo586, I'm sorry to hear this! It looks like your private messages are turned off, and you can adjust your preferences in your Community settings (on the browser only, not the app). If you would like to send me a private message with more information, I'll look into this.
