Gift Card Scam

my niece got scammed out of the $50 gift card I gave her for her birthday. Purchased 5 gift cards, 4 worked and 1 had a balance of zero dollars when I she activated.

Explained the situation to Sephora, and they told me there’s nothing they can do. The only way is for me to go to my bank and request a charge back- and Sephora has nothing to do with gift cards in general. Problem is- I paid with cash (still have the receipt).

they should have a warning on their gift cards explaining the only way to ever avoid losing your money by a scam is to use your credit or debit card. They should not even allow cash purchases. It’s not my fault I still value the dollar and do not like carrying credit cards.

I certainly do not need a bunch of people responding by telling me I need to buy with credit cards in the future. I will certainly never purchase another gift card from Sephora again.

HOWEVER- I am giving fair warning here – if somebody does not contact me and make this right- I am going to my local Sephora, which is located in the mall in Bayshore, New York – and I am going to steal $50 worth of product per day for the foreseeable future. We live in a world where the police won’t do anything because it’s less than $900. I’m tired of these big companies not caring about the little people.

After I give her the product she wants, and you’re a parent that lives local- please reply with requests and I will meet you and give it to you at no charge!
