Gift Card Not Working

I received a gift card for Christmas and when I went to use it, it said the value was $0. When I called to confirm the balance ($25), it said it wasn't activated. I know the person who gave this to me wouldn't give me a card with a $0 balance that wasn't activated.

 

Is there anything I can do?
