Gift Card FRAUD!!!

I received a $75 gift card for my birthday. I put it away in my drawer for a couple of weeks. It was still in the packaging, the silver sticker still on it. When I went to the store to use it today I was told there was zero balance! I called the number on the back of card and was given a different number to call. When I got the “manager” I was told that gift cards are treated like cash so they cannot be replaced if they are lost or stolen. Well, I didn’t lose or have my card stolen! They also said there were 2 online purchases made on 11/18. No items were purchased under my account on that date or for those amounts. I also couldn’t have possibly used the card with the silver label still on it. the lady on the phone just kept repeating that they can’t do anything for me and this is the policy, like a robot. 


I am BEYOND upset about this!! One, I spend thousands at Sephora and I am a Rouge member. Two, I received this gift card after my car was broken into and my entire makeup bag stolen. A friend was trying to help me re-buy some of my Sephora products. Three, the lady on the phone was condescending, sarcastic, and rude, making this situation even worse. 

I went online only to see that this is a FREQUENT issue with Sephora gift cards and that Sephora refuses to do anything about it. You cannot tell me that that with all of these people having the same issue, that Sephora is going to do nothing??? I see a class action lawsuit in the future. In fact, maybe I’ll start one myself.  In addition, I refuse to buy anything from Sephora again. So instead of replacing a $75 gift card, Sephora will be losing THOUSANDS of dollars from a years long, loyal customer. ULTA HERE I COME!! 

So maybe you’ll read this and finally do SOMETHING. Maybe you’ll have the heart to fix this.

I got Scammed tooooooooo.... with a $40 dollar gift card. Can anyone help ? where should email or call? this isnt fair

I received a $100 gift card, purchased 5/9/24 from a store in SF, CA, still have the receipt.

 

Went to use it yesterday: $0 balance

 

Went to the store, they told me to call the gift card balance number. They told me it was used 3x on 5/14 - $20, $60, $20

 

Gift card balance line told me to call customer service.

 

Customer services says to file a dispute with my bank.

 

Look online and you will see hundreds of people affected.

 

I will be looking into a class action lawsuit.

 

As far as I am concerned, Sephora is complicit in this.

 

I will not let this go.

Even with beauty offers..i just spent over the $25.00 minimum required... more like $160.00 3 days ago... offer is pick one of the hair samples or 3 of the perfume samples and they were never offered to me at checkout...if the offer is not at checkout then how are you suppose to be aware of these offers unless you go searching. Once I'm done with the gift cards I will not be shopping here any longer...with their scams and bad website..not worth the aggravation and they do absolutely nothing for you to make it right so why should i waste money on a company like this?!
