GIFT CARD SCAM

This has been a terrible experience. We recently purchased a $50.00 gift card for our little (big brother big sisters) for Christmas, she was so excited to use it, we gave it to her on Dec 27th and when she went home to use it, it was used. We called the customer service line, and the lady was pleasant and explained that there was indeed a 50-dollar balance on it and that it had been used in 3 separate online transactions 1 for 6.71, 2 for 24.50 and the 3rd transaction for 3.33 cents and the gift card now had a balance of zero. Now here are some of the issues besides it not being us or her that used the gift card. What on earth in Sephora cost $3.33 because I could find nothing online for that price. Second issue is those 3 totals do not equal $50.00 so where is the unexplained balance of the gift card gone? Reading all of the other complaints throughout this forum and the many other forums I believe that Sephora has a lot of explaining to do to their customers who spend their hard-earned money there. What kind of Scam are they running? We were told to call Sephora directly as they were just a customer service call center and the person who answered the phone was very rude and basically brushed us off. Perhaps a call to the news station and a full investigation into this scam is needed.

Same thing just happened to me!

I went to check the balance of my gift card I have received as a grad gift with $50 on it since I wanted to finally purchase something nicer, and it sad the balance was $0!!! So disappointed and confused since the sticker and digits did not look like they were tampered with, it looks like Sephora has a major and serious issue with the security of their gift cards. It’s quite upsetting and I hope they fix this problem as I see so many people encountering the exact same thing. I really hope they can do something about it and help resolve the issue soon.

So we probably received the same corporate response of sorry nothing we can do.  Absolute bull.

I had the same issue and called that same number last night.  She told me it was a gift card issue and could not help.
