GIFT CARD CHARGED BUT NO ORDER

I tried to place an order today using a sephora gift card and a credit card but there was an error at checkout and order did not go through. Need to check my credit card to make sure it was not charged but my gift card now has a zero balance and no order was processed..what do I do? I've sent an email to sephoras customer service, but I can't stop worrying about this. Any help would be great. Thanks.
