Employees need to back off a bit

I went into the Sephora at Menlo-Park mall in Edison yesterday and I like to go to the mall in between classes for my lunch and kill some time. I always stop in Sephora to either fix my makeup or WINDOW SHOP. (Notice how I put window shop in all caps to emphasize). I walk in the door and I get greeted by an employee which is normal because I’m the customer and it’s their job for their guests to feel welcomed and find out their mission on what they’re looking for. But as soon as I turn the corner to go into an aisle looking at palettes, I got another employee bombarding me with the question if I needed help and my usual answer which is “Oh no, just looking.” And I thought that would be it. But NO. I can’t even fathom how many employees came up to me and asked me if I needed help and I told them I was just looking because a.) I’m broke and B.) I’m really just looking. I couldn’t even shop and look around because I felt so attacked. Some point around my visit, I was handed a basket I said thank you but I put it back where they keep them because why would I need one if I’m broke and don’t have money to shop? I was probably approached by 7 employees asking me if I need help when I didn’t. On my way out, another employee asked if I needed a basket. I said no and she asked me are you sure. When I said no, I’m broke she just looked at me like I was crazy and continued to give me one when I said I didn’t need one. I get it that the employees job is to make the customers feel welcomed and be hospitable to them, but for the love of God: LET PEOPLE SHOP AND IF WE NEED HELP WE WILL ASK YOU.
