Earning points from items in cart

Hi,

I remember previously if I had 100 beauty insider points, and $200 worth of merchandise in my cart, it would say that I had 300 redeemable points and I could redeem those points with the purchase.

Now, the points in my cart aren't added to my beauty insider balance to use at the same time as making the purchase. 

I really liked this feature because I was able to just redeem those points in the same order. Now I hardly redeem points anymore because I would have to make a second purchase to redeem the points I earned on the first purchase, which is a complete waste of my money. 

Is this something that was changed?
