Do NOT purchase Sephora E-gift Cards

Hi guys, Please do not buy e-gift cards from Sephora. Save yourself the money and the headache. I was gifted an e-gift card in $150 US. I only used about $50 of this amount. I tried to use the rest today on a purchase but my gift card balance was $0. I was transferred to 6-7 people at Sephora and at Cashstar to see if someone could help me with this. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER. I felt like I had called some tiny little unkownn shady company- not a cosmetic giant like Sephora. When I finally got a Supervisor to talk to me, they sounded like they could care less. She listed my transactions (NOT MINE- my hacker's!) and told me the card was used by someone in the USA. She has their location but will not share with me until I file a police report. I am pissed off at how nonchalant her attitude was. She did not care one bit. I have spent several thousand at Sephora and for them to treat me like this is incredibly hurtful. I am going to try and purchase my skincare products directly from the brands now if possible, and not Sephora.

I just had this happen to me. I had received a $250 gift card back in April and I had not purchased in a while after making my birthday purchase then. This month going back to my account, I see all my payment methods have disappeared as well as the gift card. The email for the gift card had disappeared when I tried to go back to find it in my inbox as well. This is not okay, if card information and gift card balances have disappeared without notice from Sephora. Our credit card information is not safe.

I had over $400 and they aren’t doing anything for me. Over $400! How does that even happen? Then I get some message telling me they can’t give me cash for gift cards… I never ask for cash. I just wanted my gift card balance back on my account.
