Do I have to send back the damaged item ?

Hi. I just requested a replacement Huda palette because a shade was shattered. They kindly requested I send the other back however can't I just throw it out ? I hate re-packaging damaged Sephora tend to ship out and it's an hour walk to the post office since I don't drive. So sick of damaged Sephora products in the mail. But it's my only way to get the goods

I was wondering the same thing.. Do I absolutely have to send the broken product back?
