Did Dr Dennis Gross change formula?

I recently purchased the retinol + ferulic over night serum and am concerned about the color. I have purchased this product many times and it is always a light shade of yellow. I just opened my new bottle and it pumped out a dark caramel color. Has it been reformulated? Has it gone bad? I wouldn’t be happy if it lost its potency. Any thoughts?
