Defective gift card

I purchased a $75 gift card from cvs but as I scratched off the back the numbers came off too. I’m getting the run around on how to resolve this issue. The Sephora sales person in the store, the customer support number and the cvs customer support all say there is nothing they can do but that’s a whole $75 I spend just for the card to be defective and no way will help.

I would love to know how this was resolved!? I am currently dealing with the same issue. I bought my mom a $50 gift card from cvs for her birthday and then at checkout the employee told her it was invalid and probably stolen!?!! Ugh so frustrating

The same thing just happened to me. How disappointing. Not even with your receipt do they help you.  I will spread the word on Yelp. Don’t buy gift cards!!!!🤬🤬🤬the convenience of getting what u want with a gift card and they don’t help!!!!
