Defective Sephora Eyeliner

I purchased a #Sephora 24 hr. Retractable Eyeliner, and the product doesn't work.  No color comes off on my eye (or arm) and the tip keeps breaking off. I went online to the reviews, and found that other people had the same problem. I tried contacting customer service online and they said they couldn't help me with an in-store purchase.  I can't make it into store.  You would think a company like yours could provide assistance to customer.
