I want to share my experience as a warning to others: please be extremely cautious when purchasing gift cards directly from the Sephora website.

My sister purchased a $150 Sephora gift card for me through the official Sephora website, and the code was sent directly to my email. No one else had access to it, and it was never lost or shared. When I went into the store to use the gift card, I was told the balance was $0.

The store advised me to call customer service, which I did. Unfortunately, I was then transferred between multiple phone numbers for hours, and no one was able to help resolve the issue or provide any solution. I was simply told there was nothing they could do.

Out of frustration, I searched online and on TikTok, and I was shocked to see that many other customers have experienced the exact same situation with Sephora gift cards. It is extremely concerning that this appears to be a common problem, yet Sephora is still selling gift cards without providing proper support or solutions for customers when issues occur.

This gift card was purchased directly from Sephora, not from a third-party retailer, and this still happened.

I’m incredibly disappointed in how this situation was handled. Customers should be able to trust that when they purchase a gift card, the funds will be there and that the company will help if something goes wrong.
