DISAPPOINTING! Unable to use store credit online

I returned an item (it was skincare that was too harsh on my skin) and gladly accepted a Store Credit. I only found out now that I can only use in store. I was not able to use it online. I then went to the store to see if they can place the order for me since the product I want is only carried online. They told me they are not able to do that. I can only buy products that the store carries. 

This new policy is very inconvenient. While returning, no one told me that the Store Credit is only good for in store. I would not have accepted it. This is very disappointing. As a VIB, I will no longer shop at Sephora. Sephora is the only company that limits the use of their merchandise credits. I will now go to Nordstrom, Macy’s and Ulta where they have a much better loyalty program and customer service.

I sincerely apologize about this! White merchandise gift cards (store credit cards) can only be used in stores at this time and it's stated here > https://www.sephora.com/faqs-gift-cards.
