Claiming birthday reward points

Hi! My birthday is in September, and I got the email saying that I can claim my birthday present. Thank you! I'm considering getting the 250 reward points as my gift, but I just spent a lot of money during the Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale and wasn't planning to buy anything else soon, possibly not until after September. I tried to claim the points without a purchase and couldn't do so. I'm wondering what my options are. I know that I can go into a Sephora store and get one of the birthday gifts, but can I go into the store to get the 250 points added to my account? If not, I will probably wait until later in the month and go into the store to get one of the other gifts if I see that I won't be needing to order anything. Either way, thanks again for the birthday gift!
