Chicago store staff

I have been buying almost all my skincare from Sephora since years now. Never in my life ever have I had such a terrible experience. I  went to the N Michigan Ave store in Chicago looking for very specific HSA eligible stuff. As soon as I entered, I asked someone specifically if I can use my HSA card to make the payments for my shopping at Sephora. Thy said I can, so I went ahead and made selections from the store. When I was at the billing counter, my HSA debit card got declined. And I asked the lady at the billing counter to check what the issue is. She, in the most rude tone ever said we don't accept HSA and I told her that the website has a list of items that I can purchase from, AND that one of HER team members told me that card gets accepted. She kept telling me "I don't know". When I told her that I was told by someone at their store before I wasted close to an hour at their store, that the card works, SHE REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT. 

All I wanted to know was how to navigate/ what would be the next steps if I wish to use my HSA. All I got was "I don't know" or "talk to your employer" or "we are not your employer so we don't know". 

Not the first experience that someone did not have/ provide the right information at Sephora, but definitely the first time with such rude staff. 

I purchased the items but immediately returned it at a different location. Definitely never getting anything from Sephora ever!
