Charged twice and the amounts do not match

I was researching a duplicate "pending" charge on my credit card from an online Ulta order, and had that resolved three phone calls later, only for Sephora to do the same thing.  I suspect they are owned by the same company, but this procedure is BS.  I will check back with my credit card in a day to see if either the duplicate original total amount or the second two amounts that are slightly less fall away.  If not, I will be contacting Sephora customer service and I will no longer place online orders from Sephora due to this practice.  I find it improper to charge a customer $556 for a $278 online order.
