Cashier had no idea what Play! was !!!

I lost my Play! pass and purchased a few things not getting the 50 bonus points.  The cashier at Sephora had no idea what Sephora Play! even was!!

"Is it like Ipsy?" she asked.  I thought she was just quizing me to prove I did get Play and would give me the 50 points.  No such luck. 

When I got home I logged in to this chat to find I could have downloaded from the app!!  I wish the cashier had told me that I would have.  Can I get a credit for the purchase after the fact?
