Cancellation?

On September 8th, I received an email that my payment declined and that I had until September 14th to update my payment. I updated my payment method on my acct on September 11th.....today I received an email that it has been canceled. What's the point in giving me a timeframe to update...if you're just going to cancel it anyway? This is for my sephora play subscription by the way.
