Can I use my gifted rouge code in-store?

Hello! I received a gifted Sephora rouge code. Because of a technical glitch, they weren’t able to send me a link but someone from Customer Support gave them a one-time code to send to me. I’m wondering if I need to use this code online, or if I can bring it in-store? I had hoped to buy my items in-store. 

I’m in Canada if that makes a difference. The person who gave me the code was in the US - not sure if that affects anything.
