Brand new gift card showing $0 balance

Hi there! I received a Sephora gift card from my father for my birthday/Christmas this past December, and when I checked the amount on it, it said there was $0. I've never before had an issue with Sephora's gift cards, so I unfortunately did not keep the receipt for it. I see I'm not alone in this issue, scrolling through some of the posts here. Is there anything that can be done?
