Big purchase, Lost Points...? Please help.

I'm writing this as sort of a last cry for help. On November 14th I made a purchase at my local Sephora and everything went fine. I went on with my life as one would. Then a few days later, on the 17th I logged into my account and noticed that my point balance was not updated at all! I quickly panicked cause it was indeed a big purchase and which means that I would have gotten a good amount of points. Soon after I tried contacting customer service and after a few days, I got a reply and thought that the problem would be resolved. Unfortunately, I was told that nothing could be done because I didn't keep my receipt and points can't be accredited to and account on purchases of 200$ or more. I discarded my receipt because I certainly wasn't planning on returning anything therefore I saw no use in keeping a piece of paper around. Also, I think its quite obvious that I had no way of knowing or predicting that there would be some kind of issue with my points and account that would require me to keep it. I really dislike having to post complaints or negative inquiries, but I find it's really upsetting to ask for help and basically be told "nope. sorry nothing can be done. bye". I just hope that someone reads this and considers things from my perspective and offers me the help I need in order to not lose those beauty insider points.
