Adding a gift card to apple wallet

Hello. I am trying to add a physical plastic sephora gift card to my Apple wallet. I found the sephora web link where you can enter the digits (from the gift card page where it says take your cards mobile) and it’s pin and I click save but then it get this error : We're sorry, this card number appears to be inactive. Please ensure you typed the correct card number and pin.

i know I’ve typed it correctly. I’ve checked 100 times. Please help
