Adding Points After Purchase

My husband purchased a gift for me, and at the suggestion of the cashier, did not use my Insider account at the register to not alert me of the purchase - she told him I would be able to add the point after the fact. I do not see an option to do so; could someone assist me? I have the receipt, and the purchase was done at a free-standing Sephora, not a J.C. Penney one.
