3rd Party Plastic Sephora Card SCAM

I received 2 gift cards ($100/$50) for Sephora on 05/12/2024.  They were purchased at Walgreens.  They were intact with sticker on back of numbers and NOT tampered with.  Still in their cardboard.  I went to used them on 06/30/2024 and they were at $0.  Come to find out they were activated and used through Sephora website on 05/17 as I called the number in back of GC.  Both of them.  I was given a number for CASHSTAR. (866-286-1262) Apparently they handle the plastic gift cards.  I call there, and it's tied to SEPHORA.  No matter what option, call transfers to a Sephora customer service rep.  Finally, one told me it was another number.  The other number, which I repeated to the female dog, was a non working merchant number @800-279-2674.  

If you get scammed, just know this is the info they'll give you.  I called the number in back of GC twice. (888-860-7897).  Purchaser of GC will dispute with credit card company they were purchased with.  However, I truly think this is an inside job between Sephora and/or Cashstar.

Please, if the same has happened to you, don't drop the ball.  Call the FTC or go through website and complain.  The more voices heard, the more it will be investigated.
