$35 gift card had zero balance

I received a thirty five dollar gift card for my birthday. I went into the sephora store today to use it.I even opened it in front of the cashier.She tried to put it through, and she said there was a zero balance on it.And to call the card number. I called the number on the back of the card, and they told me that it had been used already.The day that I got the kibbed card is the day that it had been used.But that's impossible seeing is how I opened it in front of the cashier. I've called customer support for the gift card.And I called sephora customer support, and no one's been able to help me.They just say there's nothing they can do about it. Has anyone else had this problem yet?Or got any resolution because , i'm noticing that a lot of people have had this problem as well.
