2 accounts

I was told on the 31st I had two accounts when I made a purchase. The cashier advised me to call in to have the 2 accounts merged. She claimed to see points on the one account I had forgotten about. I called customer service and was advised that one account, the forgotten one, had been disabled a year ago and the points transferred to my current account at that time. My question, which could not be answered to my satisfaction, is why was the cashier able to see the disabled account? Can someone please verify that I only have one account? Thank you in advance.
