$10 off is a scam

Sephora has become a scam. I spent 500 reward points for $10 off and returned the crappy product. They deducted the $10 from my return and kept the 500 points. I'm shopping at Ulta from now on.

Re: $10 off is a scam

i can confirm this is a total scam. they apply the 10 dollars across each item in your order, so if you return one item from your order, they only return the prorated amount and they donโ€™t return the prorated points. this is highway robbery by sephora as per usual. why bother offering these points if you are going to scam people? i think we would all prefer that you stop the charade that these points are worth anything.

if youโ€™re going to use these points, make sure itโ€™s not for something you might end up returning because sephora will steal your points. Donโ€™t even know why i expected anything less. Wish we had an ulta in Canada but unfortunately weโ€™re stuck with sephora and their crappy points.

Re: $10 off is a scam

Hi @qtorres,

I'm sorry to hear the product you purchased with BI Cash wasn't working out for you! Return of merchandise purchased with a Beauty Insider Cash Reward will be for the price actually paid after applying the $10 discount. Neither the 500 Beauty Insider Points deducted from your Beauty Insider account or the $10 discount will be refunded. This information is listed directly on our website here:

Always,

Danee

Re: $10 off is a scam

I agree it's totally a scam,  first of all the only reason I ordered online was because when Rare beauty was originally released your site said it was 'online only' otherwise I would have rather gone in store and received a proper color match, I found out the hard way by losing the points that none of the colors match my skin tone.

Secondly if you purchase two items and use $10 off, and then if you return one of the items Sephora takes 50% of your discount ($5) and keeps it even though you could have used the $10 off on the item you kept.

It's a total scam, it's disgusting.

Re: $10 off is a scam

Thank you for the reply. This policy is horrible and a scam. I earned that $10 and shouldn't be stuck with product. Sephora customer service and vib policies are horrible. I used to be vib rouge but Sephora has cheapened the program with policies just like the one you've posted. This is why Sephora is losing customers to Ulta.
