Chlorine build up

So I have super thick curly hair. The fronts r very wavy and the back and underneath r very curly. But When I go swimming, the chlorine holds in my hair and builds up and makes it super greasy even after I take a shower. At the end of my vacation or even summer, I would use a hair mask to get rid of  the build up but I don’t know if the mask is getting all the build up off. Is there any recommendations to help with the build up or right after I leave the pool?

@Youready Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two is specifically for Chlorine build up. It will not over strip your hair like a typical clarifying shampoo

RE: Chlorine build up

@Youready sounds like you need a good clarifying shampoo. I personally use Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo. I use it once a week-on Sunday’s-to get rid of all the product build up. You could use it a fewtimes a week since you’re in water a lot. Another trick is to apply some conditioner or coconut oil to your hair before you swim. It will create a barrier between your hair and the chlorine.

Re: Chlorine build up

When I used to swim all the time I used clarifying shampoos and a good conditioner post swim, and made sure to soak my hair with tap water before getting in the pool. Some girls would coat their hare in a leave in conditioner and but it up in swim caps.  Good luck!
