Need help getting curls back

I need help to get my natural curls back. I ruined my hair by straightening it everyday and high school. I now want to try to get my hair back to its original state.

Re: Need help getting curls back

I had my hair over processed by a stylist and my natural curls paid the price.  I was thankful to be introduced to #Olaplex.  I had small trims done every 6 weeks, did theat-home treatments weekly and here I am 4-years later with amazing, full curls cascading down to my mid-back.  I own the entire line of products.

@Trinhope  I agree with the others' advice.  The top layer of my hair is straight from bleaching from highlights and heat damage (held the curling wand on too long, continually.)

I wanted to encourage you by telling you that as my new hair is growing in at the top of my hair, it's coming in curly.  It can happen!

I also started using K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Molecular Hair Repair Value Set โ€“ Full-Size Repair Mask & Free Travel Detox Shampoo  that was so graciously gifted me by Sephora.  It makes such a huge difference for me; it gave me a lot of the volume I used to have in my hair years ago.

I also have found this to help COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Treatment Spray for Frizzy Hair  .

I agree with others that there is no fixing heat damage. You can't restore the straight bits to their natural curl pattern. However, if you don't want to have short hair while you wait for new curly growth, you can try transitioning as though you're growing out chemically treated hair. This involves trying to blend the straight hair and the new growth using things like curlers, and the like. If you basically force the straight hair to curl, and the curly hair to stretch until they meet in the middle, you can look not crazy with straight ends. Takes a lot of work, but there are a ton of videos on YouTube about how to do it. Just don't follow any advice that uses heat styling.

Your going to have to cut it.. I did that 2 years ago I went to a curly expert and told them to cut it because of how damage it was โ€ฆ start with a deep conditioner.. little by little you will start exploring.. I started with olaplex n 3 and n 0 and that helped me a lot !

@Trinhope the easiest and cheapest thing to do that can help is to sleep in your conditioner. Buy some cheap shower caps off Amazon, wash your hair at night, put your conditioner on, add the shower cap on top, and rinse the conditioner out in the morning.  I color and highlight my curly hair every five week and sleeping in my conditioner brings my curls back to life.

@curlychiquita  That's a great idea!  I'm in the "6 week club," probably soon to join the "5 week club," so I'll need an extra step or two for my hair.

Re: Need help getting curls back

Iโ€™m going to be honest ur gonna have to cut all the straight pieces off and start over thereโ€™s no way to fix heat damage like that u have to cut it off not all of it but any pieces that arenโ€™t curly, and once u grow or u just wear it short a good way to start is a moisturizing shampoo conditioner leave in conditioner curl cream and then gel.
