Halloween Help!

All beauty advice deeply appreciated! I’m going as Ripley for Halloween (from Alien specifically, my hair is mid length) and right now my hair routine is air drying. My curls are a bit on the looser-wavy side, what products/methods would you recommend to 1) tighten the curls for an evening of fun and 2) create that Farah Fawcett-esque fwoof effect?
