2a/2b Wavy Hair Routine?

Hi all! I'm looking to start a routine for my wavy hair, which is somewhere between 2a and 2b texture - I imagine probably more 2b if I find the right routine! I truly have no idea where to start other than low-poo/no-poo method and "squish to condish" but that's it. What products should I be looking at? I.e. leave-in conditioners, detanglers, etc? How do wavies deal with knots and tangles on non-wash days? Would ya'll mind dropping your routines and products below??

Start slow and figure out what works for you. Try more lightweight products first I’d say. Find your porousity, thickness, etc.

I have a mix of 2b/2c I use Marc Anthony coconut curl cream instead of moose because it doesn’t make my hair crunchy and I use Shea moisture coconut oil leave in conditioner when I get out of the shower. I wash my hair every 2/3 days and I use not your mothers coconut water shampoo & conditioner I also make sure to deep condition once a week with any of Shea moistures deep conditioners.

I hate to say this, but it's so much trial-and-error! Personally I find all of the different techniques, product combinations, poring over ingredient lists, etc. to be exhausting. Every head of hair is different, so it's all about finding what works for you and not getting frustrated when someone else's routine doesn't give you the same results.

A great haircut is honestly the most important step to maximize your natural texture. Wavy hair can be weighed down easily, so generally I keep it light (foams, serums, light-medium gels, no butters or heavy creams). If I want to rock loose lazy waves, I smooth in a light hydrating cream or oil and that's it. If I want to enhance my texture, I'll scrunch in a curl cream followed by a gel.

I don't get tangles or knots, and I think it's partly from being sulfate-free. Sorry I don't have any advice for you on that front! A few of us participate in the thread "Ride the WAVE," which I highly recommend checking out. We love sharing our routines, product reviews, and of course pictures. Good luck out there!
