shimmer vs matte

I personally prefer to 'glow', and im afraid of trying matte contouring or highlighting products, in case theyre too opaque or cakey. What's your experience? What's your favorite face shaping palette (or stick, or liquid)?

RE: shimmer vs matte

I find that using a cream contour before going in with a powder contour helps create a nicer more blended look. I like to use the la girl contour color in toast and bounce it in with a beauty blender and then I go in with a powder bronzer to finish off. It helps make it look more seamless.

RE: shimmer vs matte

I usually love using the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics on top of my Kat Von D Shade+Light Contour Palette. I will add a nice blinding highlighter on top like the Laura Geller Gilded Honey Highlighter and I don't feel like it make the face look dull. I think it gives so much dimension.

Re: shimmer vs matte

I always use a powder contour. Sometimes I use cream but mostly powder (KVD shade and Light or Ciate London bronzer/counter color sample I got) and I don't find it makes it look cake or flat. But I always use a shimmer highlighter. Sometimes multiple (liquid and then powder to boot) because I like to GLOW like I'm a shiny unicorn fairy goddess.

I personally love the KVD Shade & Light palette and I know some people don't like it because they don't use all the shades but I find that I do. The lighter ones for the most of my couture then depending on my look I deepen it to machete more extreme. The light shades in it are good for under the eye etc.

Highlighters I don't have a FAVOURITE as I have so many and use them all constantly. But my most used it Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin. Its so shimmery without being big sparkles. Also the Jelly Pong Pong liquid highlighter is amazing. I have the Becca X Jaclyn Hill palette too and I really enjoy Champagne Pop and Processo Pop (i use the pinky shades more as shadows TBH). Hope it helps 🙂
