Why is my complexion brush not actually clean?

I use Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner 8 oz/ 237 mL

The only thing I don't like is the smell. Mine comes with a tin. I keep some liquid in it and store on my desk and use it whenever. You dip your brush, let it absorb. And wipe on a paper towel until dry. Repeat until clean. It gets the job done, drys quickly and isn't too expensive. 🤷‍♀️🥰 conflicted on the smell (disappears after a few hrs). Brush for scale.

@cateypearls1998 have you tried a brush cleansing pad?

They really help work the soap into the brush. I'm sure you could find one for cheap at TJMaxx or Marshalls if you have one near you.

@cateypearls1998 For stubborn brushes, I'll add a bit of oil to soapy water (not enough for water to go into the ferrule)  and let them sit a bit, so everything breaks down.

Every other one of my brushes gets cleaned to perfection by the solid brush cleaner Sephora brand that cleans them like new.

Which solution did you use to wash the brush? I normally use the beautyblender liquid blendercleanse and the brush is like brand new!

Should I return my other new brush cleaners? And buy a new one?

I would suggest you to ask for a sample of the brush cleanser (any brand now) first to see if it works, if it is still not good probably you need another brush lol! Sephora is kinda strict with return now so you don't want to go into a drama, try a sample!
