Recommendations for Foundation - Oily Skin

Ok beauties, I need some input. I have very oily skin and have been struggling to find a foundation that doesn’t break down in a couple hours. Most recently I’ve tried Double Wear. It breaks down, it oxidizes, and it magnifies areas of texture and every flaw on my face. I have tried a couple lower end foundations that broke down really quickly too. I use a mattifying setting spray. Even a light dusting of powder over my primer isn’t helping much. What’s next? Any ideas are appreciated!

@RacyT As someone else with very oily skin, hoping my routine is helpful for inspo! First, I prime with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer 1.08 oz/ 32 mL. Sometimes I go ahead and mix it in with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation 445 right on my Beautyblender ORIGINAL Beautyblender Makeup Sponge Original. I find this has the same effect as applying the primer first and foundation second, and saves a little time! 

I then go in with any sort of powder to set this; right now I'm finishing up TARTE - Smooth Operator™ Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder. Lastly, perhaps the most important step is setting it all in with Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray 4 oz/ 118 mL! This setting spray is a must for me - my makeup survives 10 hour school days thanks to this gem. 🙂 Good luck!!

I recommend the ARMANI BEAUTY - Power Fabric Longwear High Cover Foundation SPF 25 because it has a long lasting matte finish. I recommend setting it with a good setting powder like the SEPHORA COLLECTION Matte Perfection Powder Foundation 04 Porcelain Pink.

@RacyT Honestly, my best foundation for oily skin has been L’Oréal pro infallible matte foundation from the drugstore. Ive used this in 90 degree summer days with it staying flawless. My favorite matte for years.

@RacyT Which primer are you using? Check out Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 g - it’s fantastic for oily skin. A couple of foundations I’d recommend looking at are LANCôME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and DIOR - Dior Forever 24h* Wear High Perfection Skin-Caring Matte Foundation. Both provide a very nice natural matte finish without being too powdery or oxidizing.
