Hi @teeeana ! I'm trying the "Associated Products" box to tag all the products (that Sephora sells) I mention in this post. 🙂
My current favorite tinted moisturizers are Laura Mercier's. I also have combo skin, but mine is mostly dry. (My oily zone is just on and around my nose.) I prefer the Skin Perfector moisturizer, but I'll also tag the Oil Free moisturizer which works well during the summer when my forehead leans slightly oily.
I don't wear tinted moisturizer often, and I stopped wearing cream and liquid foundations for good a year or 2 ago. (I rarely wore them anyway.) I do occasionally use a powder foundation. I love By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Compact. It's pricey, but it never makes my dry zones look cakey.
Whether or not I use powder foundation or tinted moisturizer, I often dab a little concealer in my hollow tear troughs. That's where my undereye darkness is (caused mostly by sunken skin). I use only the tiniest amount of concealer needed; I don't slather lots of concealer under my eyes like youtube/instagram "influencers" do. Sometimes I also spot-conceal elsewhere on my face. My current favorite concealers are Becca Ultimate Coverage and Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection. To set concealer, I usually use the tiniest dusting of By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder. (I don't "bake" with setting powders.)
Instead of using concealer to "brighten" the center of my face, I use finishing powders. My favorite finishing powders are by Hourglass. Actually, the one I often use in the center of my face is the Hourglass Brilliant Nude blush: it gives me an ethereal glow without changing my natural skin tone.
I love blush. Glossier Cloud Paint gives me a very natural looking flush. I love the inner glow effect of Hourglass blushes (well, the shades that actually show up on my skin tone). Natasha Denona also makes some great blushes. But my favorites are NARS powder blushes.
Eyebrow pencil is a necessity for me whenever I leave home. My favorite is the Kimiko Super Fine Eyebrow Pencil, which has a drier formula than most pencils. I use the shade Black Tea which is the best brow color match I've ever found. Another good (but creamier formula) pencil is Benefit's Precisely My Brow.
In these pandemic days, my usual out-in-public makeup routine is brows, concealer, blush, and maybe tinted moisturizer or powder foundation. Sometimes I'll use eye makeup, but not usually on minimal days—though if I want to emphasize my eyes in a minimal makeup way, I reach for nude (close to my skin tone, just 1-2 shades lighter and darker) shades of eyeliners or shadows. Bobbi Brown's shadow sticks are generally fantastic: they last for hours and don't crease on my hooded eyes, and I can use them as shadows or liners. Oh, and a really nice "my lashes but better" mascara is Ilia Llimitless Lash.
I never wear lipstick under my masks, but lipstick is by far my favorite makeup item. My favorites for a natural look are, of course, nude shades. Pat McGrath Lip Fetish balms are a great option. So are some PMG LuxeTrance and MatteTrance shades. The NARS Audacious line is another good option. So is the Sephora Lip Stories line.
This post is longer than I meant it to be! 😂 It might seem like a lot of makeup for a natural/minimal look, but it's really quick and easy to pull together—especially since I don't use each item each time.
