Kat Von D Trouble

I'm having trouble with my Kat Von D foundation. It looks so dry and cakey on my skin. Any tips on how to make it look nice and "like my skin"? I would return it but I tossed out the box.

RE: Kat Von D Trouble

Try adding 1-2 drops of your favourite oil to the foundation.

Mix the foundation with her primer or add some of your moisturizer to it and mix it on the back of your hand. It will thin it out and make it easier to work with without losing the coverage 🙂

You can return foundation without the box. If you have dry skin, Kat Von D just won't work for you since it's made for oily skin.

Check out Wayne Goss review and demo on her foundation - on YouTube. He explains how to apply it for a natural finish. It is the best demo out their!!!!

Re: Kat Von D Trouble

Hey! I completely understand the struggle with this because I have pretty dry skin so almost all of the foundations I try end up looking dry and cakey. I good way to help this is using a moisturizing primer. Primers are great for making foundations looking better on the skin and since you said the foundation looks dry, this would help a lot. Another way to fix the cakeyness is to spray a makeup sponge with a setting spray/ skin mist/ primer water and apply the foundation with the damp sponge. The moisture of the mist will fix the dryness of the foundation and apply it more evenly. I hope this helps!

Thank you!

I think you should try a hydration primer before you apply the Kat Von D foundation. I use the Make Up For Ever, and it works well on my skin. However, if your skin is oil, you definitely need Kat Von D. If not, change your foundation 🙂
