Foundation and Brand Ethical Dilemma

Hi guys, so I know that they arent yet, if at all selling the tarte shape tape foundation on Sephora, but I have been feeling super conflicted about using their products. I feel like the "mistake" in only including 3 shades for POC was really just a bad move that to me feels like they are making POC an afterthought. I personally like to shop ethically and I feel like denouncing tarte as a brand which totally sucks bc i love their tartelette in bloom palette. Any other Tarte fans feeling conflicted and let down?

I see reviews of people who clearly had a shade in the range for them telling others who are complaining to get over it. It's total crap. Imagine if it were the other way around and you felt excluded and left out of something you were excited to spend your money on. Like whatever find another brand. That's messed up. I know I could find a shade as I am mixed race, but I feel like I need to stand with POC and protest using this brand, but it suuuuucks bc I love that eyeshadow palette.

anyone else feeling this conflict? I just want to know that the brands that I'm using are inclusive and actually care about all of their fans, not just the white/light complexion fans/ users. Should I wait to see if they make it right, or just ditch them as a brand totally

I am a firm believer that what you spend your money on, you are saying i accept this type of behavior. that includes testing on animals. i dont accept that, so i dont pay for it. so idk. ahhh. dang it Tarte. why?

Re: Foundation and Brand Ethical Dilemma

Ug, that is the worst. For ages, I was not able to find foundation that was yellow-toned enough for me (E. Asian) but I acknowledge it's much easier for me to find a match, especially today....

I'd let Tarte know via social media that you are disappointed in their lack of shades and when you are done using up the Tarte palette (no difference to them if you toss it or use it) and you feel they haven't done enough, I'd consider looking for a new palette. I know it's tough - I avoid Amazon and now I avoid Whole Foods :'( But we live in a world full of consumer choices, it's not like I can't get by just fine without these retailers. Thankfully, there are so many other great palettes out there! 🙂

Also, that is horrible people are saying just to get over it 😞 Finding a matching foundation shade in a formula that works is hard enough as it is without brands not producing darker colours!!
