Foundation Problems

Hi guys, this is my first post and I’m pooling to see if I can get some help with issues I’m having with my foundation. It seems like no matter how hard I try or what primer I use, I can’t make it stay on in my chin/nose area. Any ideas? After a little it looks like it’s sliding off my face as it really accentuates the smile lines

RE: Foundation Problems

Drunk Elephants Luxury Marjula Face Oil (if your not on a tight budget) really changed my life with this type of issue.... *preps and moisturizes so good that it makes it pretty impossible for a non super matte foundation to sink into any deep set lines and chin/mouth areas. Following up with a good & extremely tacky primer ie: CoverFX gripping primer *AMAZING or Becca Matte Poreless Primer (Use the Becca only in areas where it's an issue... not all over face.) ❤️

Re: RE: Foundation Problems

A tip on using expensive items on a tight budget--you don't have to use it on your entire face--just on the problem spots.  This will allow you to stretch a small bottle for a year or more--suddenly making it more affordable.

Re: Foundation Problems

TBH, that's just the way skin is. I can't wear concealer underneath my eyes for they have extra fine lines. Sigh... I do have greenish tone on the outer side of my eyes. Concealer and foundation accentuate lines. I would suggest u to exfoliate with AHA 10% every other night (if your skin is sensitive) and apply sunscreen in the day time, then moisturize.

If you have dry skin, Shiseido Glow primer is good and avoid any matte foundation throughout winter. After you finish your makeup, spray Mac Prep and Prime. Good Luck!

Re: Foundation Problems

Mix a bit of concealer with a plumping serum and gently tap on.  Works like a charm!

RE: Foundation Problems

Cover FX has a new “gripping” primer that is sooooo good for keeping the makeup in place!!!

Re: Foundation Problems

Hi @StephAnnR ,

Have you tried using a makeup setting spray? These are great for helping to keep your makeup in place all day. I recommend checking out URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray or the MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mist & Fix Setting Spray.

Also, when my makeup starts to crease and separate throughout the day, I love to spray a hydrating mist and gently tap the makeup back into place with the back of my hand. My go-to hydrating/refreshing sprays are SEPHORA COLLECTION - Hydrating Mist and the CAUDALIE - Beauty Elixir.

I hope this helps! 🙂

Best regards,

Laurie
