RE: Fenty

I’m 1y12 as well! I saw a YT review were the lady was also 1y12 and she mixed 420 and 370. I’ve been thinking of jst ordering those two and seeing how it goes but I’ve already ordered 4 different shades and ending up returning them all..🤦🏾‍♀️

Re: RE: Fenty

That sucks for us ! I as told that I might be a 410 but I’m not even sure . Let me know if  you find out our real color !

Re: Fenty

I, too am a 1y12. I’ve tried all of the shades from 350 to 450 and none worked perfectly. I did not get to try 370 all over my face, but I got to try the others. I’d ordered 380 because it looked perfect in the store but when I went outside, it looked too cool. The skin tone was perfect but the undertone needed to have been warmer. I then tried 390 after a day at the beach and it worked. However, after I lose the tan, I don’t know that it will.

We we don’t have a Fenty match yet. However, a skincare professional that was trained by Fenty did say on her YouTube that Fenty will be coming out with 40 more shades. They will use the color iq system to see how many people have no matches that have filled out their profile online with the color iq. The more people that do this, the more people it looks like need the color match, allegedly.

If I could recommend anything, I would say to go into the store and swatch when they get restocked in a few weeks. Make sure that you first identify which color family you belong (tan or deep), find your undertones and only pay attention to those two things. Honestly the numbers don’t mean much, just the undertones. Try to take a few samples home and try them on your face in all types of light. In the sun, 390 looked best bc 380 was reddish. However, by the end of the day under lightbulbs and inside, 380 looked best and 390 looked far too dark. However, my 1y12 may look different than yours. It’s considered neutral, so you may have cooler undertones that are olive or red or blue or plum. Fenty hits all of those undertones in the cools for each color family, same with warms (peach, gold, yellow, pink). 370 is the peach warm for example but it’s so peach...but it’s the next warmest color. Idk. I’m yellow undertoned, so it hops from 350 (too light) to 390 (a little too dark) to 400 (too Red since it’s “warm w red undertones”). If you type in the search 1y12 on a computer, you can go up (you’ll have to jump twice for 390 bc no matches for one box over) 3y12 or down a shade 1r12 (400). Try to stick with your undertones through both color families. If that doesn’t work, try the warm with red, olive etc. if that doesn’t work, try the cools. The closer the cool is to a warm (400 being the closest), the less cool tones it has.

I don’t have a 100% match but I hope this info helps. Sorry for the essay, just trying to help. ;).

Re: Fenty

So informative ! Thank you !

Re: Fenty

I'm 1y12 also, and have not been able to find a match. At the store they tried 370, 380, 390, 400, and one other. None seemed to work. I took a sample of the 380 as it  looked good in the store, but it looked too red after wearing it for a couple of hours. I'm curious to see what ends up working for you ladies. Please update your post once you find a match.
