Fenty foundation flashback

I recently got the fenty foundation (240) and in person it seems to match my skin color. But when I took a photo with the flash on it gives me a white ashy coverage (I wanted to take the picture because imma be in the clubs for vacation and I needed to see how it looks in the dark lol) does that just mean I got matched wrong? Is there anything I can do to fix it? I never wear makeup so I don’t know someone help please!

Re: Fenty foundation flashback

@BellzzzI've heard other people mention this issue with the Fenty foundation... two thoughts: the first is that the camera flash itself causes the flashback effect, so that's not how it will look in the lighting itself, only in photos. If your foundation looks correct in natural daylight, you do have the right shade and just need to deal with the flash issue. 📸

Flashback-wise: if you have a sunscreen or a primer with SPF in this picture, that could be the culprit... otherwise it's the foundation itself like you suspect. The only setting powder I know that doesn't cause flashback is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (that exact one... some of her others will flash). It comes in two shades. You'll want to apply it with a fluffy brush or a puff, then smooth it with the brush or just your fingers.

You can even layer a setting spray on top too if you want (thinking of the club part, I used to live in Miami and it's hard to make things stick to your face there) but be sure to hold the bottle overhead and a bit further from your face so it sort of mists down onto you... larger drops might make the powder want to settle into your pores. Most importantly though, have a great time! Hope that helps 🌃🎰🌴🍹

Re: RE: Re: Fenty foundation flashback

You're welcome! Between a million companies trying to sell you stuff and all us nerds on the board speaking in shorthand half the time, it's hard to know which way is up at first! 😂

(Like, it took me a while to figure out that people writing "ABH MR" were talking about the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette... this place has more acronyms than the army sometimes)
