Concealer

I'm in need of a recommendation for a Concealer. I feel like I'm either battling creasing or it makes my undereyes look extremely dry and I generally have normal to oily skin. I use a serum, moisture and primer before my makeup application. I've tried many different brands from Milk to ABH and Charlotte tilbury.   I'm looking for somthing more full coverage as I do have genetic under eye bags. And not Matte.

Honestly I've been on the hunt for a good and reliable Concealer for years now and I just want to find my go to.

Re: Concealer

@dylan96 I agree with @heartsmyface that a layered color corrector is really the way to do it. I have super dark genetic circles and all the thick concealer in the world really doesn't do anything if I don't neutralize first. I really like the NARS Radiant Creamy Liquid Color Corrector Medium  - it's easy to blend and can be worn well alone or under concealer. As concealers go, I like Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer a lot and the Lancome one is nice as well

Re: Concealer

@dylan96    Smashbox Smashbox X Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector    is the best and most full coverage moisturizing color corrector.  it’s dewy and not matte.

Another great product which isn’t matte is the Saie Hydrabeam Hydrating & Concealing Under Eye Brightener with Cucumber Extract   though I’d consider it more medium coverage.
To reduce creasing try gently pressing your concealer upward toward your eyes with your fingers to melt it into your skin and then apply a very thin dusting of finishing powder before you blink.   Wait 20-30 seconds before blinking so it has time to dry.  Seems like a long time in practice but it helps:)

Re: Concealer

@heartsmyface You've peaked my interest in the Saie concealer!  I haven't tried any of their products yet.  I do consider the Becca/Smashbox Under Eye Brightening Corrector to be a staple product as well.  Do you have any other favourite colour correctors?  I find that I can get away with a medium coverage concealer if I'm using a colour corrector as well.

Re: Concealer

@missjeanie  I honestly don’t stray away from the becca much but will use the Jeffrey Star color corrector in Peach on super blue ‘I haven’t slept in days’ undereye circles cause it’s thin and it works.  Too bad it’s such a problematic brand.  I’ve yet to find another corrector quite like it.   I have it and I use it but I don’t really enjoy promoting it but it is what I use when things are dark.
As for other concealers I love, the Dior Backstage flash perfector in 0CR is really nice and lightweight.  My other fav is Jill Stuart in cream yellow which may not be as easy to acquire.  It’s almost like YSL touche éclat but with more of a peachy yellow tint

Re: Concealer

@heartsmyface I completely understand your feelings on the J Star concealer.  I feel the same way about the KVD liquid liner.  I've been back on the Urban Decay Naked Peach colour corrector lately and just realized it's been discontinued... for a while lol.  I did purchase the DIOR Backstage Concealer 2N  in 0N as well and I honestly need to give it another shot.  I feel like it came into my life with a whole slew of make up and so it got one, maybe two uses before I moved on to try something new.

Okay just ran and pulled it out for tomorrow morning.  Will try it with the Becca tomorrow!

Re: Concealer

@missjeanie I was so mad when they discontinued that Urban Decay color corrector! I had just discovered it so I only got to buy it once!

Re: Concealer

@Kim888 I think I like that it's a thinner formula?  I'm not quite sure what exactly it is, but the shade and the formula are really working for me lately.  I might try some more liquid formulas going forward, it seems after this all I have left in my collection are creams.

Re: Concealer

@dylan96 I feel the forever hunt for the perfect concealer.  I feel like it's been a 20 year search.  The best I've found so far is the Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid  .  It's got great coverage and doesn't dry out my under eyes.  I do still get a bit of creasing right after I apply, but I can usually dab that out and go on with my day crease free.
