Today I learned that if you have your Color IQ that it will automatically match you with the correct foundation for your complexion. If a new foundation comes out and you're unsure of what color you wear, if you have a color IQ it picks out the right color for your skin tone. How cool is that! Kudos Sephora!

Whoa...Are you saying if I'm on the app and click on a foundation, that when it opens my color match defaults based on my color IQ in my profile??

@SINYGRL On the app, you can click to find matches for your Color IQ. However, take it with a grain of salt. I think it's best to use the color as a starting point, since I've found some items in my Color IQ that were a bit too warm or dark when I tried the product in person.

I got matched in store, and they pulled up my account on their tablet when they ran it. Its a sensor that reads your skin tone and assigns it a code. Now I can find my number under my beauty insider profile - go to edit, and its there under color IQ. If you put that code in the search box it will pull up a list of all the foundations that match that color IQ. 

If you haven't been matched, you can also search "color IQ" on sephora.com and follow the instructions to get a color based of your best matching foundation you already use. You can then save it to your profile.
