Any New ULTRA Pale Foundations To See? (Or: white mixer recommendations?)

I want to try something new and splurge on trying a new foundation— the problem being, i am literally too pale to even rank anywhere on the MAC shade scale (being neutral toned, I refer to myself as N00. literally.) A list of SEPHORA foundations that work (without looking awkward or orange) on my skin tone without white mixer: ☆ KVD Lock It 41 ☆ Fenty Beauty Foundation 100 And that’s it, really. Worst of all, I haven’tfound a white mixer I even like for foundations that are a tad too dark, which i wish I could, bc Id love to try something like a Tom Ford foundation some day... Anyone out there with similarly ghastly complexions? [Below examples: my face, my forearm— can’t format this post properly from my phone unfortunately!] Do you have recs for foundations, or your own concoctions of quality white mixers +foundations? I’d love to hear them, or just chat about being as white as a (cute) sheet ghost ☆～（ゝ。∂）

Someone in a similar thread recommended the Chanel Les Blancs range, and they seem to be a good small range of very light shades. Normally those particular ones are sold in Asia, but there a few online stores that stock them. Fairly expensive, but a perfect match would be worth it to me!

@keitocake Have you tried huda? I'm shade 110 in fenty and 120 in Huda so that may be an option for you. As far as mix ins go my favorite is from MUD (make up designory). It is actually marketed as air brush makeup but when i was in school they gave us this in our kits as a base mix. It works perfectly with most foundations, however make sure you look at the ingredients of anything your mixing. There are three types of bases for most foundations: Oil, Water, and Silicone. Oil and water obviously don't mix but you should be able to mix silicone with either, but silicone base will best go with a silicone based foundation. The MUD is silicone. Here are a list of other lightening mix ins i have tried: the body shop shade adjusting, NYX Pro Foundation Mixer, Make Up Forever Chromatic base (i prefer the water based formula), L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Foundation in white, Manic Panic Dreamtone, H&M custom color drops. Hope this helps!

No, I haven’t! I’ve heard so many good things about the brand, and I like the liquid lipsticks, though! That’s part of why I posted this thread, bc some brands like Huda have diverse models showcasing the foundation shades, but all of the ‘swatches’ on the icons Sephora shows more or less look like 50 shades of tan white girl beige (and not MY beige) to me, so idk which colors to trust (and googling swatches was disappointingly unhelpful this time around) hahah. I’m really curious about this foundation now, and you also threw out some white mixers I haven’t heard of before, somehow, too! Thanks SO much for the reply,this was really helpful— I’m going to go look a little further into some of these products! EDIT: I might order the shade “Milkshake” just to try, with Sephora’s amazing returns policy and all. I’m afraid of it pulling yellow, but otherwise it looks rather promising! 😮

@keitocake I can attest that my 120B (vanilla) is definitely beige, and not a weird tan tone beige but a nice cool toned beige. On me it does not pull any yellow at all. I hope that shade works out for you! I feel i should warn you that the foundation may clog your pores, and that you should remove it very thoroughly. My skin is pretty congested to begin with, so that may not be a problem for you since yours looks perfectly clear.

What a great topic @keitocake ! I have nothing to offer, as I am on the opposite side of the color spectrum, but I know the struggle. I hope other people can offer some suggestions and point you in the right direction to find products that will work for you. A lot of people who have not walked in your shoes won't understand, but I have a few pale friends and you have a valid concern. One friend in particular uses foundation that is too dark, but it is the lightest she can find. 

I also hope that people can suggest places to purchases items that may not be at Sephora for fairer complexions. While traveling, I discovered that not all stores are created equal, including Sephora. Depending on the demographics of an area, they may offer more options for fair skin or darker skin. This goes for drugstores as well. Social media such as instagram has helped me tremendously with finding products that work for my complexion that may not be advertised to the mainstream masses.

@keitocake Illamasqua Face Base 01 is basically white, so it makes a great mixer, aside from being a great foundation on its own. Hourglass Vanish stick in Blanc is quite pale. NYX makes lightening drops, and is easily accessible at the drugstore.

I’ve heard the Illamasqua recommended a lot of times before, but I’ve also read a lot of reviews where people say it feels really thick and cakey— have you personally tried it? I’m more of a lowkey/natural face fan,personally, so at the price the Illamasqua runs, if it feels too thick I probably wouldn’t want to use it, and it would go to waste... Have you tried the Hourglass, either? I seriously trust their quality, but from what I recall, stick foundations are thicker sometimes than liquid/cream, and I don’t need very heavy coverage, just... rly fair coverage, hahah

@keitocake I’ve only ever swatched it on my hand, not used it on my face. It was very creamy. Another thing that’s worked for me if you don’t need heavy coverage, is to mix in physical sunscreen into my foundation. It lightens it up a bit. Check out Thataylaa’s video on YouTube about foundations that are too light for her. Some good options there.

@keitocake Hourglass is my everyday foundation. It isn't terribly heavy and you can get at little or as much coverage as you want. I use A LOT, and still can't really feel it on my face, so it is very light weight once blended in my opinion. My shade in this one is Porcelain, and there are three shades lighter than this in the range. Blanc is nearly white. The swatches on the product page are about a shade darker than they are in real life.

@keitocake Well, in all honesty you don’t look “white as a sheet” fair as you claim (or maybe I’m just really tired of people over doing this topic, its almost like a competition of whos the most fair it seems based on comments and posts I see on instagram).  Many times when people say they cannot find foundations its because the undertone is wrong. Tons of brands have been releasing wider ranges of shades, yes even including the fairest of tones.  Off the top of my head I know Hourglass has options in their stick foundation and Jouer recently released a lot of foundation shades.  I think Too Faced also has a shade called Swan which is very fair.

If you go to reddit, theres a sub reddit called paleMUA where there are tons of swatches and threads about what foundations work for everyone. Id suggest checking that out. 

Edit: sorry if I sounded slightly snarky, I know youre genuinely asking for help. I understand both fair and dark tones struggle however there are soooo many fair options, one just has to go in store and literally try various brands. It takes time but there is stuff out there!

That was genuinely not my intention, but honestly, I can understand why you might feel that way (I don’t usually use IG, but on FB I have seen posts where the outright point of people’s’ posts are literally just “look how ~pale~ I am”— coming from people who had to be at least NC25, at that— and I was speechless, like. There’s nothing you can even reply to something so pointless?) I don’t tend to hang around this site or these forums (definitely not enough to know which topics are beaten to death— my apologies!!), but since I’m more of an r/AsianBeauty redditer myself, with knowledge of skincare and friends who wear drugstore or Asian makeup— I don’t know anyone who’d have the knowledge of high end brands I thought I could find here— hence, why I posted this question here. Ialso tried looking up a lot of swatches via google images with little to no luck before posting, if that pleads my case further. But trust me, I don’t like being THIS fair (it’s not a treat in the California sun, where you’re teased for wearing subblock everyday so you don’t get painfulsunburns bc you literally just DONT tan, but now it just sounds like I’m looking for pity hahah) Thanks for taking time to reply, and for the referral, I’ll definitely check that out. And I’m sorry if this postcame off as some sort of bizarre bragging— I simply don’t feel any pride about my skin tone that’d be worth bragging, it’s such a hassle and an annoyance to me tbh.
