Setting powders and/ or sprays

hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on setting powders; my make up still gets on to my fingers etc after using a setting powder creating embarrassing “dirty” fingerprints on paper for example…. what am I doing wrong to truly set the make up? I have tried sprays and different powders but my make up still comes off!
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@Areems @Do you use a press and roll motion with a sponge?

Also, what setting powder and spray are you using?

Sorry I missed your question- thanks for getting back to me. I have tried a press and role technique but then switched to a dab and dust approach ( circular) with a kabuki type brush; brand is Laura Mercier and more recently the Haus Labs loose setting powder; setting spray I’ve used the Sephora brand and the Mac brands.

@Areems @I would either switch the powder or setting spray or both. I use Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder - Talc Free  and also Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Refillable Setting Powder  with Morphe setting spray or ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray 3.4 oz/ 143 mL  and don’t have any issues.
