how to apply blush

Hi ! does anyone have any tips on applying powder blush?

Re: how to apply blush

Hi @mayalove33 !

I use a medium sized fluffy @sephora collection pro brush no. 36. I swirl the brush in the blush and tap the excess off on the side of something hard like a table. Then I gently press the blush in desired locations starting very lightly and then building the color. You can always add more, but removing is harder :). For any excess powder on the brush I swipe it into the creases of my eyes and sometimes on the nose.
hope that helps!

Re: how to apply blush

@mayalove33 I keep my face neutral when apply blush. If I apply blush while smiling, once I relax, my cheeks fall back down and the blush goes with it and ends up much lower than where I want it to be.

If you would like a snatched look go to the high cheek. For a sun tanned look just cheek to cheek.
hope this helped

Re: how to apply blush

Hi @mayalove33 ! There are a few different ways. Some folks like using a big fluffy cheek brush to sweep or buff blush from cheek to top of ear (or up to the temple for the trendy draped blush look). I prefer using a smaller cheek brush to stamp blush onto my cheeks and buff it out. I’m sure there are some Sephora tutorials on their YouTube channel that show powder blush application.

When I get a new powder blush, I sometimes apply it with a cheek brush to the back of my hand. This lets me test how pigmented it is and how easy or hard it is to blend out, before I try it on my face. Then I know how much blush I need on my brush to get the effect I want on my cheeks.

If I accidentally overdo blush on my cheeks, I apply a powder foundation over it to tone it down. You could use a bit of liquid/cream foundation instead, if that’s what you normally use.

Re: how to apply blush

@mayalove33 I use a Tom Ford blush brush. I have round cheeks so I apply it from the apple of my cheeks to the edge of my face in a up motion. You can just apply it to the apple of your cheeks and blend it out too.

Re: how to apply blush

Great question @mayalove33

A good base helps and a nice fluffy blush brush. ( Using a primer for example makes your skin a ready canvas)

Starting small and add and amplify as you go, I think can be helpful too. It's easier to add a little at a time than take it away.

I hope this helps 💜
