Your favorite cream blush?

I always use my Hourglass powder blush, but would love to try a cream blush. Any recommendations for the very best in terms of application, blending, etc.? TIA.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

NARS Liquid Blush Orgasm

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

i love the rare beaty cream blush in shade bliss

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

Just as I was set to sample some of these great cream blush recommendations, I read online elsewhere where people using them broke out terribly.

I have normal/dry skin and Iโ€™m a youthful 66 y/o. I get the rare whitehead, probably related to diet, in the chin or nose area.

I donโ€™t want to break out with cream blush. Is this common? TIA.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

100% glossier cloud paint. Itโ€™s buildable but also is super natural. Personally, I love the shade puff for my fair skin but there is a bunch of shades to choose from. My only problem with it is that the packaging isnโ€™t great so itโ€™s hard to squeeze the exact amount you need, but other than that, itโ€™s amazing!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

I have very acne prone skin so I was also very worried when using a cream blush but Iโ€™be been using the Merit cream blush for a while now and it does not break me out at all! It has clean ingredients so itโ€™s not irritating at all. I would highly recommend.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@ashv1010 @I definitely want to try this because Iโ€™ve heard great reviews! I love the size of it and that itโ€™s rounded unlike Milk blush. Do you have a photo of you wearing Merit blush? Iโ€™d love to see it!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@MaggieGM did they mention a product in specific? Some people are sensitive to coconut oil or shea butter which might be the cause.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

Loving Nudestix blush in Bohemia Rose (beautiful, creamy, violet/rose shade)& Bondie Bae (silky, matte, warm bronze shade) They glide on & stay put, can be used on eyes lips & cheeks & come with a built in buffing brush. ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸคŽ

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@MaggieGM  The easiest method Iโ€™ve found for applying cream blush smoothly is to use the same beauty blender I use to apply my foundation .  Tap it into the blush and then bounce the beauty blender on the back of your hand first to both even the product out on the sponge and to get a feel for how intense the color is before going straight into your face with it.  Then apply:)
Use the non-blushy side of the sponge to blend the edges out on your cheeks or to make the blush more subtle if it still went on too intense for your liking.
A more natural and uneven โ€˜I-just-came-in-from-the-coldโ€™ blush effect can be accomplished using a stippling brush haphazardly across the high points of your face and your nose.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@heartsmyface your advice was very helpful to me! Iโ€™m glad I was reading the comments! I have a terrible time with blush. Either I apply it too much or too little then thereโ€™s the problem of making it look natural without the straight line underneath! Ugh, thatโ€™s hard to do! Iโ€™m going to try what you said so thanks again!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@heartsmyface I'm going to have to try that. @Cissy63 maybe these tips will help!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@Samtian   This may just work.  Thank you for thinking about what we had talked about ๐Ÿ˜€

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@Cissy63 Yep! I think I'll try it Friday or Thursday.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

Sounds like a good way to blend it well. I use a sponge for my foundation, so handy. Thanks!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@MaggieGM  Beauty blenders are fabulous!  My only qualm with them is theyโ€™re effort to clean but itโ€™s a fair trade off for how useful they are.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

I use dawn on my Beautyblender to clean them @heartsmyface. I also keep a small bottle in the basement to clean stains out of my clothes. It is actually cheaper and more effective.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@heartsmyface

Lazy girl route = ivory soap. I wait until I have all 12 of my blenders dirty, it takes me 15 mins to clean them all. Itโ€™s so quick and easy. All stains gone.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@GG84  I currently have around that amount cause I donโ€™t like doing them.  Ivory soap is on my list.  itโ€™s dang drying but I bet that helps when trying to strip a sponge of all its gunk.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@MaggieGM  "The very best" depends partly on how you apply cream blush. When using a brush, I apply cream blush the same way I apply powder blush: stamp (tap) the blush onto my cheeks first, then buff/blend it out. Some folks prefer to use sweeping or buffing motions straight away with no stamping.

My current favorite cream blushes (some products I can't tag without choosing a random shade):

I also like to mix Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment Plum Wine (and a few other matte shades) with a tiny bit of Aquaphor Ointment or CeraVe Healing Ointment to create a creamier custom blush.

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@WinglessOne Iโ€™ve always wanted to try Glossier! Too bad itโ€™s only an online product!

Re: Your favorite cream blush?

@totallymick  You may soon be in luck: Glossier is coming to Sephora this year! I donโ€™t know how much of their catalog stores will have in stock, but I assume best sellers (including Cloud Paint) will be available.

According to Glossierโ€™s site, they do have a few physical stores: โ€œWeโ€™re currently in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, D.C., London, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, with more stores coming soon! Stop by, say hi, and shop our entire collection.โ€
