Cheek Challenge Winter 2024: Mocktail Makeup

Hey, we're back at it, collab'ing with @sister13 for Makeup Challenge of the Week 2021/2022/2023   Time to get cheeky, winter style with...

Blush Cocktails!!!

Creating cheeked out versions of cocktails but with makeup - custom combos of complexion products like concealer, blush, highlighters, bronzers.   Don't just think of layering.  Break out your mixing palettes (or palms or back of your hands if that's what ya got)!  Basically, recipes with blushes inspired by boozy beverages.  Get all the glam of the chic cocktails, but none of the calories. 😂 (Great if you're also doing a dry January).  If you're not sure what a particular drink looks or tastes like, that's okay!  These threads are all about interpretations of looks.

Jan 14-20: Cherry Cola/Cherry Cocktail Lips + Cheeks. Think ombre lips and burgundy or deep red looks.

Jan 21-27: Hot Toddy Week. Think bright and sultry, go for golds and honey or amber colors.
Jan 28-Feb 3: Espresso Martini\Martini Week.  This is the martini look - green and shimmer, but you could also add a deep lip to it or go for brown or plum version.

Feb 3-10: Maiden's Blush or Cosmopolitan Week This is the one that started it - Maiden's Blush, by RMS beauty.  It's coral, shimmery and warm.

Feb 11-17: Red Wine & Hot Chocolate - If you do partake in alcohol, try this it's delicious.  The look speaks to red and brown, but again, you choose.

Feb 18-24: Pink Blush /Blush Wine - Essentially, this is a pink look, but pinks have all sorts of tones, so have fun playing with this, whether it's all pink or a pop of pink.

@Mellmars1185, they really do.  Not to mention, if you're like me and the rare blushes put you on the struggle bus, it really helps using the highlighter.  The highlighter kind of makes it a smoother application for me.  With the blush by itself, I usually get a patchy application.  There's a spot on my cheek that it always lifts.  I have serum blushes from Youthforia, which is where I got the idea to start mixing the rare beauty blush with something like a concealer.  It changes the shade a bit, unfortunately, but it makes it usable.

On the direct site, however, they use the highlighter, and since I fancy highlighters, it's a perfect combo!

@danielledanielle That is an excellent idea....and it gives that 'lit from within' look. I do struggle with the liquid blushes a bit. I do apply them to my hand first and dip a dense brush in and blend onto my hand. Even with that technique, I find that once I get it blended it dries down too quickly and then I need to repeat the process. I end up using quite a bit of product just t get a natural looking blend. I will try mixing the two to see the difference.
